An abused woman

She bluntly told me that she was battered severely by her ex-husband to such an extent that she was finally sent to the hospital to receive a cure when one day she unveiled her anger on him with the matter of him keeping the other woman outside. Blunt as she was, tears constantly rolled down uncontrollably over her cheeks, forcing her to stop and stop with not a few hiccups. More than clearly, her heart was broken into fragments. Nothing could serve as an effective comfort to her, but I let her talk. I always knew my place, being a good listener to this kind of client of mine and letting them freely and boldly talk out all and then acting as a trusted friend with expertise and offering proper consolation and help.
…………..She continued telling her story. She said it was not her fault but her ex-husband’s, and she could not find a reason not to leave him when he would batter her with his fists so violently and ruthlessly without leaving a dose of mercy, rendering her so seriously injured that she had to be sent to the hospital and stay for a week. ‘When I was hospitalized, I eventually awakened, except that I found myself awake from the dungeon where I had never thought I would have been,’ she exclaimed with a deep breath. She continued, ‘I think I have recovered physically now. As to mentally and psychologically, I am not sure if there is one day I can make it as well. You may never know how scary it was to be battered by a man whom you thought loved you. It was extremely horrible. It was out of all imaginations. It was unmentionable. It was indescribable. It was an abyss of despair and pain, and it was too embarrassing for me to even face myself when I had loved him so much. Sometimes when I recall him battering me, I could not help but find myself too demented to have once loved this person so obsessively. I totally could not justify myself.’ She talked non-stop, not even breaking to gain relief.
