What is forgiveness’s deep meaning? I

Is ‘forgive’ on earth merely a word or something practical? There is a serial drama recently broadcast on television that tells its own tale.
The story in the serial goes that there is a young woman who has borne a grudge against her mother for years unable to reconcile her with forgiveness. It sounds kind of commonplace, but I am obliged to warn you of the consequences that the people involved will have to take, you may never imagine how great the impact will pose on them leaving sorrows and pangs of regret if someone sticks to stubbornness and hatred.
The above-mentioned character in the serial deliberately names herself ‘Open’ and painstakingly makes herself act like a happy person all the time. Not until yesterday she could not but tell us her story did we know she was a sad person. She revealed to us that when she was a teenager, her father passed away and her mother had a man who had several times sexually assaulted her rendering one time she had no choice but knifed him in the belly. Pathetically, her mother didn’t believe her but called the police and sent her to jail. Never has this couple of mother and daughter seen each other afterward until lately they accidentally met on a street.
The mother appeared exceptionally happy to have seen her daughter again (thinking it is the best luck in her life) and begged for her forgiveness for the fault she had once made leading her life to ruination; however, Open did not accept her mother’s apology, saying to her that she would never forgive her in her life and demanded that they would not see each other from now on. Open found her mother had not loved her at all but loved the man, and she thought it could mean she was nothing in her heart. She was so heartbreaking that she found nothing can atone for the hurt but hate her for life.
The story develops that yesterday Open was attacked by some bad guys on a street, her mother, at a critical moment, came across and galloped to her, and without a moment’s thought, she blocked a bad guy’s knife from stabbing her daughter’s body, as a result, the knife stabbed her and she injured badly facing a moment of life and death. With it, Open eventually came to realize that her mother did love her, and she decided to not only forgive her but also love her forever. The most amazing thing is Open yesterday said to us she does not need to pretend happy anymore because she has become an authentic happy person with her forgiveness for her mother. She can be a bona fide happy person instead of a fake one that she has all along pretended. As for me, I found ‘Open’ a very auspicious name, an omen indicating that Open will have a chance to open up a new chapter with her mother in her life. Without a doubt, we always need new chapters to move on so that our lives will be moved.
In this episode of the serial drama, I have got some more profound sentiments about forgiveness and human nature, and I will tell you about them in my next post which will be a bit longer.
